Because I'm a low budget kind of guy, I decided to paint the door panels with SEM landau black vinyl and upholstery paint. The lower door panels were from a Malibu with a black interior. The upper door panels came out great. If your going to do this, make sure that you use a stiff brush and brush the velour as you're painting it. This is noted on the spray can directions and it does make a difference. If you don't brush the velour, it will get matted and hard.
For the lower panels, all I needed to do was clean them up really good and then strip off the old faded carpeted section and add new carpet. I used the stuff that you can get at the local auto parts store.
